FINNI FINNBJÖRNSSON - Master Instructor and PADI Public Safety Instructor

Owner and head instructor of SCUBA ICELAND is one of the most experienced instructors and diver in Iceland.  Finnbjorn is a PADI Master Instructor and the first PADI Public Safety Instructor in Scandinavia, qualified to teach 12 specialties.

Finnbjorn did his training at Ocean Divers in Key Largo, Florida. He is a full time diving instructor and guide.  He has been a diving instructor in Iceland since the year 1998 along with working as a police officer until the year 2006.  Finnbjorn also worked as an instructor at Florida West Scuba School in Venice, Florida and at GCMI-South, Associated Marine Institute in Florida when he lived there from 1996 – 1998.

ANNA MARÍA EINARSDÓTTIR - INSTRUCTOR

Anna María is a PADI-MSDT (Master Scuba Dive Trainer). Anna learnd to to dive in Marmaris, Turkey and has been with Scuba Iceland since she took her Rescue Diving course with us. Anna took her Divemaster course here with us at Scuba Iceland Dive Center.

After that she went to Tenerife to take her IDC and IE.

Anna is a very experienced Instructor and a popular guide with Scuba iceland.

Anna is also a EFR-Instructor (FIRST AID) and can teach these specialties: Night diving, Dry suit diving, Deep Diving, Underwater Navigator and Enriched Air.

JONINA HERDIS OLAFSDOTTIR (NÍNA)

Nína learned to dive in 2007 and has done little else since then. Nína became a PADI OWSI a year later. She is also qualified to teach Deep Diver, Dry Suit, Enriched Air, Digital Underwater Photographer, Underwater Naturalist, Diver Propulsion and EFR. Nína worked as a Dive Guide and Instructor in the summer of 2008 in Iceland. Nína also worked in Florida at Dive Outpost, where she met and learned from some of the best divers in the world. Nína left there with Full Cave certification, and is currently the only Icelander with that certification. Nína has dived in the Caribean, Egypt and Greece. But most of her dives have been either in Iceland or the caves of Florida. Nína has over 200 logged safe cave dives.

 Nína is a very experienced dive guide and instructor that loves diving. Nína is currently studying Marine Biology at University of Iceland.

  
ERLA BJÖRK - DIVEMASTER

Erla started diving in 2007 and really took diving to the heart. Erla became a Rescue Diver and a Divemaster in 2010 with Scuba Iceland. Erla is full of energy and is always willing to help and assists divers in anyway. Erla is fluent in Spanish. She has worked in Spain. Erla is currently also working as kindergarden teacher. Her plans are to become a PADI OWSI in the next year.

Erla is also a EFR Instructor and working towards and is now working toward her OWSI by becoming the NR. 1 Assitant Instructor with Scuba Iceland..

Börkur Árnason - DIVEMASTER

Börkur started diving in 2008 and after his first course he kept on going and in 2009 he became a Rescue diver and in 2010 a Divemaster with Scuba Iceland. Börkur comes from Akureyri which is in the northern part of Iceland, he is reliable, funny and a cool guy and Scuba Iceland is proud to have him on board.

Börkur has gone through all the ranks through the GO PRO route with us here at Scuba Iceland.

Börkur achieved the AI (Assitant Instructor) rating this summer.  Those of you that will go with Börkur will remember that experience.

 

Börkur daily job is as a Detective Inspector for police.

 

Börkur is a avid outdoorsperson and won the destinctive title “WIPE OUT” Champion.

JON INGI THORGRIMSSON - DIVEMASTER

Jon Ingi is a Divemaster for Scuba Iceland.  He is one of the most experienced technical divers in Iceland. He started diving in 2003 and has logged over 500 dives in Iceland, Faroe Islands, Egypt, Thailand and Canary Islands. Jon Ingi completed his PADI AOW in 2005 in Canary Islands, PADI dry suit and nitrox in 2006 in Iceland, TDI advanced nitrox, decompression procedures and extended range in 2007 in Egypt, GUE fundamentals and PADI rescue in 2008 in Iceland. IANTD recreational trimix in 2009.

Jon Ingi plans for 2010 GUE Tech1 course, PADI Instructor + IANTD gas blender.  He’s currently studying small boat sailing and engine operator and is looking forward to getting wet with you ;)

ARNAR JULIUSSON - DIVEMASTER

Arnar is a dive guide working for SCUBA ICELAND. Arnar is a Padi Divemaster and Advanced nitrox and Decompression theories qualified. Furthermore he has GUE Fundamentals and CMAS gas blender technician. Arnar just moved back from Denmark where he's been diving with the Tech community for three years and accumulating quite an extensive experience in mixed gas diving, including occasional trimix.

Arnar is responsible for making us all move towards deeper and darker places and other gas mixes.

ARNOR JONSSON - DIVEMASTER

Arnór Jónsson is a Divemaster for Scuba Iceland. He started diving in 2003 and been adding to his skills ever since.  Arnór is a former police officer and member of highland rescue team.

Arnór  is very knowlegdeable of Iceland and the high country.

When Arnór is not underwater you can find him at the University of Reykjavík studying Engineering.

THORIR "CHIP" SIGURDSSON - DIVEMASTER

Chip is a dive guide for SCUBA ICELAND. He is a commercial – extended range diver with qualifications from the Icelandic Maritime Administration.

Chip is an ex-police officer and has worked as a personal protection specialist in the Middle East and the Balkans. He is an experienced diver with a cool calm head.

 

ASGEIR "DALE" THOR ASGEIRSSON - DIVEMASTER

A dive guide for SCUBA ICELAND. He is a commercial – extended range diver with qualifications from the Icelandic Maritime Administration.

Dale is a police officer and has worked as a personal protection specialist in the Middle East and the Balkans. Dale has also worked extensively for the United Nations in missions both in the Balkans and Afghanistan. Dale is a very experienced diver.

THORARINN THORARINSSON - DIVEMASTER

A diving guide and DiveMaster for SCUBA ICELAND located in Hrisey in the North of Iceland.  He will assist and guide groups diving in Strytan and Skutan the spectacular diving sites in the North of Iceland by Akureyri.  Thorarinn is a former police officer and works currently as a professional diver at Nordurskel – a mussel farm located by Hrisey in Eyjafjordur.

Thorarinn is a PADI DiveMaster and has HSE Commercial Air Diver qualifications from Fort Williams in Scotland.

Thorarinn is a very experienced diver especially in the area of Eyjafjordur in the North of Iceland.

EGGERT MAGNUSSON - DIVEMASTER

A dive guide working for SCUBA ICELAND.  He is a very experienced diver who started his diving career with qualifications from Australia.  Eggert was a member of the Norwegian army for many years working as a special unit diver “Minedykker”.  Eggert has SIVA Rebreather, Extended Range and Nitrox qualifications. 

He also has Commercial Diving qualifications from the Icelandic Maritime Administration.

 

ARNAR THOR EGILSSON - DIVEMASTER

A dive guide for SCUBA ICELAND  Arnar is a Padi Advanced and Nitrox qualified diver.  He is also a Commercial – Extended Range Diver with qualifications from the Icelandic Maritime Administration.  Arnar has also done some training with the Swedish Army.  He is an experienced diver with great interest in all outdoor activities.
